 The first generation surface command available in AutoCAD was the 2D Solid command. In AutoCAD 2011, this command can only be accessed through the command prompt area, which is an indication that this command is slowly being phased out. The 2D Solid command is used to fill an area in the sketch plane of the current UCS.
